  My uncle who is an Elder has been warned not to ''talk or meet grandson''.

  my cousin( who was disfellowshipped many years ago) told me that he cannot speak to or come over to his grandfather's any longer.. he would stop by every month or so just to see his grandfather and grandmother.

  they are both in their 80's and not in the best of health.. my uncle who is still serving as an elder would talk to his grandson only when his grandson would visit his house.

  well,someone found out and snitched on my uncle.

  Your connection seems slow....

  The world must be getting worse every day... I remember flying transAtlantic in the 50's on a prop aircraft - the internet onboard was blazing fast...I'd say hit Gigabit speeds at times...

  Growing up a Jehovah's Witness - New Video

  i have put together a video - growing up a jehovah's witness 1960 -2010. it aims to show the things a witnesses would be taught as they age over those decades.

  it is 15 minutes long.

  this is my first attempt at a video and it took a while to work out how to use final cut, so please feel free to make suggestions if anything should be changed.

  And the accent - a great "hook" to break the pattern. Almost as if it was planned. It was like you took your lessons in advertising and marketing very seriously .

  i got the convention update from my mom, who attended this past weekend.

  sounds like the society made the claim that immorality is escalating at a faster clip.

  is that true?

  If you define "immorality" as "sex outside of marriage", like the WTS, and ignore the dozens of other forms of ethical and moral violations that used to occur, well, yeah. Kids are as horny as ever, but now they don't hide it so much.

  Go only few generations (ahem, real generations, not as per latest WT definition) back and see when did your grandparents have their first child?

  Betchya in their mid to late teens...and that was NOT due to an immaculate conception.

  Draw your own conclusions, even by WT standards.

  What seems to be missing is an information clearinghouse where ex-JWs can reach a wide audience of like-minded people who are doing similar projects, who would be interested in participating in or aiding those projects, or who would benefit from those projects.

  Mad, what you describe is a Wiki. Not expensive or difficult to host and maintain by someone with a moderate IT knowledge.

  if you are a jw in the us or canada, you probably already know about "khconf".

  it is a business that has been set up (presumably by some jws somewhere) that supplies call-in numbers and teleconferencing for shut-ins to listen to kingdom hall meetings.. they have their own website: www.khconf.com.. .

  what i didn't know is how much they've spread!

  Really?! I thought a Generation consisted of overlapping generations spanning over several lifetimes, even going back to 1914.

  By the same standard, the Great Depression of the 1920-30s would be "The worst economy in a generation".

  Why suddenly agree with a worldly source, which definition of a "Generation" is clearly wrong by your own standards?

  Dual-faced hypocritical bastards don't stop there; the rag is full of gems I don't really have the time to post or analyze. This is just a primer if someone wants to continue...

  Essan, I like it - you have to keep it really tight lipped though.

  It could easily be infiltrated by posing JWs and with all personal info the "targets" and their congregations can be alerted. What a wonderful "experience" for the next convention - brother X exposed apostates...

  Maybe in the form of a PM, not a board setting, and then you still really don't know who is for real and who is posing...

  Let me reiterate - I like the idea, (im)proper execution is what scares me...
